International Performing Artist – Character Education & Life Skills Teaching Artist – Youth Mentor – Former Student Athlete

Ten years ago, driven by a passion for positive youth development, Yarnell Ball pivoted from performing on the stages of New York City to the educational spaces of Michigan and Stratford, Ontario, to become a teaching artist. A Duke University graduate and former student-athlete, her upbringing in New York City and South Carolina, along with her experience as a Child Protective Specialist, shaped her mission to empower youth with essential life skills.

As an award-winning teaching artist, Yarnell has collaborated with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations, receiving grant-funded support for her work with Read Art Loud, Inc., a nonprofit organization she co-founded in 2022. Her innovative programs, songs, and online content, recently featured on the Michigan Learning Channel, have reached and inspired countless children and youth.

Yarnell brings teamwork, creativity, and a dash of je ne sais quoi to every project – making her work impactful and memorable.
